Planning on breastfeeding my newborn?
Posted on 31. August, 2010.
I am planning on breastfeeding my newborn and will pump when I return to work after my maternity leave. When I'm out shopping for bottles, nipples, pacifiers, and breastpump accessories I notice that there are all kind of gadgets. We have tons of Avent bottles and are waiting to purchase the breastpump after my son arrives in August. What accessories do I need to buy that I would need and find useful while breastfeeding and pumping when I head back to work? For example, breast shields, certain type of nipples for breastfeeding babies, etc. I don't know what to buy and what is a waste of money, please help!

Manual Breast Pump Question?
Posted on 27. August, 2010.
Ladies with babies, or who have had babies.. I hate electric Breast Pumps, I've had horrible luck with them with my last 2 children so with my 3rd I'm going manual and was hoping to get some suggestions for good pumps?? I've researched online and every pump has mixed reviews. I don't want to spend a lot of money because this is my last child and I usually only breast feed for a couple months. Thanks for any suggestions in advance I only pump ( not breast feed) .. so it will get used a lot

Another breast pump question?
Posted on 19. August, 2010.
With so many brands I am still stumped I asked previously about the Ameda vs Avent and got many responces praising teh Ameda purely yours. But I have a two part question 1. What about the Playtex Embrace? 2. Have any of you used pumps that have the breast sheilds or areola massagers with them? I have noticed that the Avent and Playtex come with them and they both tout comfort. I can get the Ameda with them if I order from healthchecksystems.com (way cheaper than retail) for free and free shipping. Both Ameda and Avent are similar in price But the Playtex is about $60 cheaper. Before I spend 164-239 I want to know what you think of them and if the stimulators are worth it 1. I can buy on ebay the purely yours with backpack for 209 but without the stimulators (mimics babys sucking) or online site for 229 with them 2. Or the avent for 239 comes with them 3 Or the playtex embrace for 165 which comes with them. I refuse to buy a used pump no matter what extras are included or how cheap it is. It is new or nothing This choice is final once I buy one it can't be returned if I don't like it. So I need all the advice I can get I plan to work full-time and will be breastfeeding for a full year so I need a pump that can stand this test of time
