question about breast pumps... manual or electric, double or single?

Question
I am trying to decide what type of breast pump I should go with. I am due in about 3 weeks and will be off work for 12 weeks. Then she will go to an in-home daycare and I would like to be able to send breast milk for her. My question really pertains to the type of pump. I have been doing quite a bit of research and have found Madela, Lansinoh, and Playtex to be the best. The Madelea are very expensive (except the single, manual ones) and don't really seem to have all that great of reviews, comparatively speaking. The Playtex petite double pump electric pumper actually seemed to have the most value for the money. The Madela and Lansinoh manual single pumps had GREAT reviews and, on many sites, were noted to be better than any electric pump that the reviewer had tried. Does anyone have an opinion or experience with one over the other. I don't want to have to invest a lot into a breast pump, but I will if I have to. Should I start with a single pump manual (they are about $30) first and see how that works? That way I am only out $30 or so if it turns out that I need an electric. Also, all women's milk comes in different so should I wait until after she is born to see how my milk comes in... since I won't need it for the first few months anyway? Thanks! Well I didn't figure I would need it for the first month, anyway. I plan on breast feeding her for every feeding, my husband is away in Iraq so he won't be giving her a bottle or anything. Is there a reason I would need to bottle feed her breast milk before I go back to work... except maybe the last few weeks to get her used to a bottle?
Answer
You're going to be pumping a lot when you go back to work, so it's worth it to get a good breastpump. Believe me, you're going to want to get as much milk out as quickly as you can, so don't waste your time on a single pump or a manual pump.I used Madela dual electric pumps when both of my kids started going to daycare, and was very satisfied. And I would advise that you get the pump now. It'll give you one less thing to worry about once the baby is born. Good luck!
